If you want to find out how to get rid of back acne, you should know that it won’t be as easy as getting rid of facial acne. For one thing, there are a greater number of oil-producing or sebaceous glands in your back. Second, the skin on your back is thicker than, say, your face (thankfully so), which makes acne more difficult to treat. Thus, expect to work harder if you want to get rid of your acne for good.

How to Get Rid of Back Acne by Washing Regularly
The back is one of the most neglected parts of the body when showering or taking a bath, but this has to change especially when you’re suffering from back acne.

You need to make an aggressive effort to treat back acne and that starts by changing your soap to something that’s hypoallergenic or anti-bacterial. Scrub diligently when soaping your back to get rid of dirt that may have stuck to your skin. Don’t scrub too hard, however, or your skin could get irritated and that would be another problem altogether.

After any strenuous activity, it’s also ideal to wash afterwards to prevent sweat and oil from clogging your pores and leading to more and worse back acne problems.

How to Get Rid of Back Acne by Exfoliating
We’ve already talked about scrubbing at the start, but this time we can talk about it in greater detail. For those unaware, exfoliating is a skincare procedure of shedding old, dead skin cells to make way for new ones.

There are various kinds of exfoliators to help you do this, including but not limited to brushes, loofash, scrubs, and washcloths. Any one or a combination could work well with your skin while others could prove to be an additional irritant.

How to Get Rid of Back Acne by Medication
Back acne may also be treated using off-the-counter (OTC) treatments. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are the two most popular medications for acne they come in gel and cream variants. Avoid using them together as these could lead to adverse reactions.

For effective use, apply the cream or gel 10 minutes after your shower or bath. This must be done twice a day and make sure to wait for it to completely dry if you don’t want your clothes to end up accidentally bleached or damaged. You may also use a moisturizer following this procedure to limit its drying effect.

These are, of course, not the only ways how to get rid of back acne but they’ll definitely do for a start.
